8 Steps to Discovering Your True "Life’s Calling"

  • Are you aware that you spend more time at your job/career or business than you spend doing any other activity including the time you spend with your loved ones?

You may think what you are experiencing is a mid-life crisis, but actually what you may be experiencing is your mid-life calling!

This 8 step program of Self-Discovery will help you uncover your gifts, unleash your passions and embrace your wonderful, messy, luscious life so that you can become happy and confident on the inside and successful and beautiful on the outside.

Step 1: Tuning into the nudging, pulling or screaming that’s saying "something isn’t quite right".
You’ll learn how to listen to your inner guidance that is clueing you into what’s not working and what those messages are guiding you to do.

Step 2: Why a "mid-life-crisis" may be your "mid-life-calling".
This is where you get take the "helicopter view" of your life and start to see that you have been "in training" for your "life’s calling".

Step 3: The un-comfort zone: amp up your "pain" of where you are in life; which doesn’t mean to complain or whine about it.
The un-comfort zone is a necessary state to be in if you want to move forward. People that are successful and believe in themselves are in the "just do it" mode, knowing that there is no choice. It is a state that you should learn to love as part of your process. Think of it like you’re about to get into a very cold pool when it is hot outside. You could try to get used to it slowly, a toe, a calf, ect.., or you could just jump full in, knowing it is going to be uncomfortable. But what happens is you move through that uncomfortable period at lightening speed and you’ll get to "play" a lot sooner. The other slow way, you may even talk yourself out of ever getting in.

Also, another reason you benefit by amping up your "pain", is that it’s a known physiological fact that you will move faster to avoid pain than to gain pleasure. When you learn to use this as a tool instead of something to complain about, you will understand how this contrast or the things you don’t like to experience, can be used as a launching pad to move you towards what you do like and want to experience in your life!

Step 4: The hidden secrets in your life stories; what has life been preparing and training you for?
  • What has happen to you good or bad, personally or professionally that is of any use to pass on and share?
  • What was your favorite book that you remember reading as a kid? Why? What was your favorite movie or television show you remember watching? What about it made the greatest impact and memory?
  • When is it you felt most alive? What were you doing? What were the people saying to you that were around you at the time?
  • What is the biggest obstacle that you have overcome? What about that experience made you feel proud?
  • If you could change 1 thing about your life or yourself, what would it be? What difference would it make in how you make your present life choices?
Step 5: Embracing your wonderful, messy, luscious life is about the perfection of the imperfection.
The messiness is what brings the richness and texture into your life. In this perspective an inner-glow, grace and sense of gratitude radiates to the outside world. You’re finally at a place of acceptance and deep understanding and you get how even the "bad stuff" that has happened has blessed you with huge learning and gifts that make you the person you are today.

Step 6: "Trying on" your new life; you will know when it’s right.
Through a process of visualizing techniques, you’ll get to see and feel if what you are seeking is the right "fit". During this coaching process, you will recognize if your beliefs, feelings and self-talk are in alignment with what you want.

Step 7: Looking for the "gulp factor"; making fear your new best friend.
The Gulp factor represents the way you feel as you begin to think of what’s possible for your life and as you contemplate these possibilities, it will to stir up every fear, doubt and insecurity that you could imagine; this means you’re in the right ball park! This fear is not your enemy. The fear is just letting you know you’re up to change and some really big stuff. The fear you feel is your inner guidance reminding you it’s time to start working on shifting your self-talk now.

Step 8: "Sliding Doors" appreciating the Synchronicity or the magical coincidences that are divinely orchestrated.
The realization as you look back on choices or events that you could have or might have, given what you know now, done differently; you know that you are exactly where you are suppose to be and you wouldn’t be if you changed even one thing. All of life is a gift; to learn, grow and cherish.
